The Traveller of the Future: Gen Z
The tourist of 2030 will come from the generations born before 2010, above all Generation Z, who need to be won over now.

Generation Z (1997 – 2010)
In 2030: aged 20-33
Where tourism is concerned, Generation Z has the following characteristics:
- They have more flexible schedules, which lets them travel more often;
- Social media plays a crucial role, both as a source of inspiration and as a place to share;
- They are permanently connected through mobile devices and wearables, looking for the online and the offline to join up;
- The rise of digital nomads, professionals who turn the world into their office;
- They travel for personal enrichment and as a reward for a demanding routine, valuing experiences that support wellbeing;
- A growing focus on health, wellbeing and healthy lifestyles, with a holistic approach to mental and physical wellbeing;
- Greater concern with ethical and environmental questions;
- They prefer experiences personalised and adapted to their own preferences;
- An appreciation of what is natural, authentic and particular to the place.
