Licensing and legal compliance for the farming sector
We handle the entire licensing process for farm holdings, livestock units, agri-food businesses and rural tourism - from the initial review right through to the permit being issued.
The Service
Licensing without the headaches
Finding your way through the red tape of agricultural and environmental licensing is complex and slow. At Espaço Visual we handle the whole process - from the legal assessment through to the permit being issued. With 31 years of experience and established relationships with the main regulators (APA, DGAV, DRAP, ICNF, ERRAN), we make sure cases are properly prepared and that every stage is fully transparent.

How long does it take to obtain a livestock licence (REAP)?
It depends on the class of the holding. Class 3 cases (prior notification) are quick; class 1 or 2 holdings, which require an inspection, typically take 2 to 4 months until the DRAP decides.
Do I need a licence to drill a borehole on my holding?
Yes. Abstracting groundwater requires a water resources permit issued by the APA and filed through SILIAMB. We handle the whole process, from prospecting to the final authorisation.
Does Espaço Visual stay with the case until the licence is granted?
Yes. We stay with you through every stage - legal assessment, filing the case, responding to requests for further information and inspections - right up to the permit being issued. That support is always included.
Which regulatory bodies do you work with?
We work regularly with the APA, DGAV, DRAP, ICNF and ERRAN, as well as local councils and Turismo de Portugal, depending on the type of licence.
