Technical Visit to Casa de Mogofores
On 2 November, the practical part of the 5th edition of the Advanced Programme in Rural Tourism began with a visit to Adega Campolargo and to Casa de Mogofores, both in Anadia.
This first meeting offered an exclusive look behind the scenes of a wine and rural tourism venture, covering topics that matter for sustainable development and cultural authenticity.
The afternoon began at Adega Campolargo, where the participants were welcomed by the wine tourism manager, Cristiana Cerveira. The technical visit explored the winemaking process and looked at wine tourism strategy.

The experience was rounded off with a sparkling wine reception, celebrating the wine heritage of the region and the warm welcome of the estate.

The participants then made their way to Casa de Mogofores, where they were received by one of the owners, Joana Campolargo. Known for its history and its hospitality, the house is ideal for anyone looking for an authentic rural accommodation experience.

The guided visit took in the facilities, with Joana highlighting what sets Casa de Mogofores apart, such as the pool and the services laid on for guests, and sharing details of how the property was adapted for tourism. The visit also gave rise to a conversation about the complexities of licensing and red tape involved in setting up and running a rural tourism business. Joana explained the importance of partnerships with local tourism activity companies, underlining the prominent role of wine tourism at Casa de Mogofores.

To finish, the participants enjoyed a farewell tea prepared by the owner and hostess of the house, Dona Glória, in a genuinely warm and authentic setting.

This first visit was a milestone at the start of the 5th edition of the Programme, giving the students an initial grasp of the challenges and opportunities of rural tourism.
